We talk to Steffen Schorn about his latest CD with the Zurich Jazz Orchestra “To My Beloved Ones”. Schorn has been the ZJO’s composer in residence for two years.

“The mixing process has also been very elaborate, very meticulous. It’s necessary because the music is just very dense and there’s a very broad palette of colors in it. And to get a transparency there, that you can really hear through all the voices, that’s a very elaborate process, in which I’m also really very critical and self-critical.”
