Today with Thomas Gansch
Zurich Jazz Talks #15
On the occasion of his last concert with the Zurich Jazz Orchestra in Moods, we chatted with Thomas Gansch about coffee, Zurich and making music together.
Making music together is important to Thomas Gansch, even essential. He describes himself as a herd animal. His father was a conductor and he prefers to be in a group than alone. “In a big band, the best thing for me is to be the brass player in a super trumpet section, to play along and always try to phrase it exactly like the first one and stuff like that. It’s like when you’re on the soccer team and you work together to be the best team together. And it’s the same with the big band.”
