Episode #25

The long-standing wish for an in-house rehearsal venue will officially come true this April with the “Jazzhaus”. We have taken this as an opportunity to address various topics relating to the “Jazzhaus” in our podcast.

We start today with Gregor Müller, our pianist, and Adrian Frey, his predecessor and occasional substitute. As guests at Gebrüder Bachmann Tasteninstrumente AG in Wetzikon, the two of them had the big task of choosing the grand piano for the “Jazzhaus”. In conversation, we chat about the decision-making process: What makes a good grand piano? How do you make a grand piano sound good?

We also talk about the two pianists themselves, their teaching activities and the next generation of pianists, the role of the piano and ask what the differences are to classical music when it comes to keyboard instruments.
