Episode #29

From jazz to classical music, from small formations to orchestras, from bass trombone to sousaphone: Jonas Inglin, bass trombonist and music director of the Zurich Jazz Orchestra, is a musical wonder bag. That’s why we invited him to Zurich Jazz Talks to chat about trombones, of course, but also about everything else: We talk to him about studying the trombone, the difference between a tuba and its big brother, the sousaphone, and about marching music. We also discuss the role of the trombone in the big band compared to small ensembles and in jazz compared to classical music.
